Learnerships 2026

Paid, accredited work-based learning programmes that lead to NQF qualifications and real employment. No matric required for some.

What Is a Learnership?
A structured learning programme combining theory (classroom) and practical workplace experience. Registered with a SETA and leads to an NQF-registered qualification.
Who Qualifies?
South African citizens aged 18–35. Many learnerships are open to school leavers, unemployed graduates, and people with disabilities. Grade 12 often — but not always — required.
What Do You Earn?
A monthly stipend (not a salary) set by the relevant SETA. Ranges from R2,500 to R7,000 per month depending on the NQF level and host employer.
